I had a craving to draw tonight, and the only thing I could really find was a photo of myself from last month, so voila: self-portrait. I am VERY pleased with how well it came out, considering a) how long it's been since I last drew anything, and b) that it only took 3.5 hours (shut up! I'm a slow artist! D= ). I'm not sure the hair is quite right, but it is GUD ENUFF.

I have mad anger at my scanner for cutting out nearly all of the wonderful detailed shading on this. D= It looks so much better on teh papeeeer.

And since I've been on a great self-esteem kick over the past month or so, have a poem I wrote for class as a bonus:

Unfurling

Once I loved a girl who was not mine but
Yours, and yours, and yours; yet, I thought, unloved.
Through the window I climbed – the door was shut;
I clung to the trellis with her above
And whispered promise of beauty and fame,
Though I knew how impossible it seemed
I wished the world to remember her name.
Together we feared you would smite our dream.
Once I loved this same girl and she was mine,
All mine, not yours, or yours, or yours. Unfurled
In all her splendor and pride, now divine,
The center of my world and hers, this girl
I loved. And all the world turned out to see
It was that I was her, and she was me.
